Karl Lagerfeld is collaborating with shoe brand Melissa.
The creative director of Chanel is a busy man, as he also has his own label and designs for Fendi. The style star is known for teaming up with different brands for projects and his latest venture has now been confirmed.
Karl is working with the Brazilian footwear company on a capsule line that will hit stores for the Fall/Winter 13 season.
According to WWD, the designer will continue his relationship with the company over four seasons.
"[This is] one of the most exciting collaborations the company has ever seen," Melissa’s chief executive officer Paulo Pedó said.
Pier Paolo Righi is the CEO of Karl's eponymous company and is just as thrilled by the collaboration.
"[Melissa should be praised for] translating Karl’s inspirations and designs into truly ironic, fun fashion products," he said.
Melissa is known for its work with high-end designers and fashion industry professionals, with Dame Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu and Gareth Pugh having previously teamed up with the label.
Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio has also worked with Melissa, which was exciting for the star as she used to wear the brand when she was growing up.
“As a little girl I loved my Melissa shoes,” she previously explained. “Everyone in Brazil loves Melissa, so I was so happy to design my own styles.”
Karl has created lines for H&M, NET-A-PORTER and Macy's in the past.
