AS a glamorous WAG, Gillian Quinn knows more than most about high heels.
The wife of former footballer Niall Quinn yesterday encouraged her fellow fashionistas to donate their unworn footwear to the National Council for the Blind of Ireland's (NCBI) Shoes for Sight Campaign.
A recent survey conducted by the council found the majority of people never wear a quarter of all the shoes they own. It means that a wardrobe de-clutter could result in as many as 10 pairs of shoes being donated to one of the NCBI's 68 charity shops.
NCBI chief executive Des Kenny said: "Our charity shops experienced a drop in donations of clothes and other items last year, but an increase in demand for quality second-hand clothes and footwear.
"We would urge people to de-clutter their shoe collection and donate any shoes that are seldom or never worn to one of the NCBI's shops around the country."
