Recessionistas rejoice! Lipsy -- everyone's favourite going-out label -- has seriously cut its price tags for Spring 2009! Since Lipsy was bought over by the Next group towards the end of 2008, its prices have tumbled.
Lipsy dresses which used to retail between €95 to €120 are now being sold from €65 to €72! All good news for fashionistas on a budget who don't want to compromise on style.
With the backing of Next behind it, Lipsy is also expanding rapidly as a label. The range, which used to focus on statement dresses, now has a great array of leathers, coats, skirts, jeans, leggings, jewellery, tops, skirts and handbags. The first Lipsy stand-alone store opened its doors in London last November to great success.
Now Lipsy has announced that it has chosen Dublin as the location for its second stand-alone store -- due to open this April. The location has yet to be announced, so watch this space!

In the meantime, Lipsy is opening a concession in Arnotts, Henry Street, where you can nab some of its hot new looks for spring. The key collections include Futuristic -- full of metallic fabrics and zip details; Absolute Vintage, with lace details and soft pastel shades, and Sundae Girl which is crammed with lady-like dressing-up styles in clashing colours.
Here's a sneak peek at some of the new collection which is hitting the shops this weekend! We love the dark floral tea dress, €72, (below left) which is the perfect in-between-season frock. Wear it now layered up with a leather biker jacket, opaques and boots and, when the weather warms up, opt for bare legs and T-bar sandals -- now that's what we call chic-onomics!
