Ashton called Charlie out on Wednesday night during an appearance on American late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The actor said he's tired of being targeted by Charlie since taking over his role on TV comedy Two and a Half Men, famously turning to the camera and telling him: "Dude, shut the f**k up!"

Charlie appeared to apologise on Twitter yesterday morning for making Ashton feel uncomfortable.

"Ashton message received. so sorry u sounded like me! well done! my bad I was pissed at other crap & took it out on you. hope u r good xox c," he wrote (sic).

But less than two hours later Charlie took to the website again. And this time, his tone wasn't a friendly one.

"but news flash Dood, you ever tell me to shut the F*** up, EVER again, and I'll put you on a hospital food diet for a year. c #YaFeelMe Jr?" Charlie fumed (sic).

Ashton famously took over for Charlie in 2011 after the Anger Management star was fired from the show.

He's been taking aim at Ashton for months.

In January, the actor tweeted Ashton: "Quit barfing on my old brilliant show."

Ashton had yet to respond to the remarks publicly at press time.
