Zeta-Jones puts smile on sick children's faces

Published 10/11/2012 | 05:00

Film star Catherine Zeta-Jones brought smiles to the faces of seriously ill youngsters during a hospital visit in her native Wales.

The Oscar winner -- whose actor husband Michael Douglas has recently battled cancer -- took time out of shooting her latest film in London with fellow countryman Antony Hopkins to travel to Cardiff to launch a fundraising drive. The Noah's Ark Children's Hospital of Wales is the new name for a specialist facility in the Welsh capital -- and counts 43-year-old Zeta-Jones as one of its top supporters.

The Swansea-born actress, who opened the facility in 2006, made sure her diary was clear so she could take part in the renaming ceremony.
