Wozniacki adds to intrigue of split saga with 'his and hers' tweet
They had earlier added to the intrigue over their apparent break-up by chatting with each other on Twitter.
McIlroy (24) took to social media site Twitter yesterday for the first time in days.
But instead of confirming the break-up outright, McIlroy said that informed sources were "wrong 99.9pc of the time". He did not deny the split.
After McIlroy's comment, Wozniacki responded to his tweet saying: "Ha ha. That's not a very good percentage. Lol (laugh out loud)"
And the tennis star later posted a picture of herself with the golfer after reports that McIlroy had ended their relationship after two years. "Since my profile pic made big headlines I better change it again lol," she wrote as she posted the picture.
However, the Irish Independent understands their relationship ended recently.
Reports in other media said the golfer was advised by his management team to announce the end of his relationship with the Dane last Friday at the press conference following his second round of The Barclays at Liberty National in New Jersey.
There was initial speculation after fans noticed the couple had both changed their Twitter profile pictures from a 'his and hers' shot, to a single portrait.
"Just because we changed our Twitter profile picture doesn't mean that we're not together," the golfer said.
