Mark Wahlberg has revealed the full extent of his workout regime for his new film Pain And Gain.
He stars opposite Dwayne Johnson and Hurt Locker actor Anthony Mackie in the macho movie about three Florida bodybuilders who get caught up in an extortion ring and kidnapping scheme.
Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, which is based on a true story, Mark said The Rock had a penchant for oiling up.
"Dwayne was obsessed with the baby oil. Anthony and I didn't go that far, we didn't want to be rubbing each other down with oil, but the part required a lot of working out, trying to get as big as possible.
"It took a lot of time to train because I had done four movies all in a row and each one required a different physical and mental preparation."
Anthony said that the boys added a competitive element to their daily training.
"We pushed each other to our limits every single morning and I think that's why everybody got so big, because we were being so competitive against each other every morning.
"Every time I tried to challenge them to an arm wrestle they said no but I did beat Dwayne in a pull-up competition. They have bigger muscles but I have stronger muscles!"
Pain and Gain also features Hangover star Ken Jeong and Bridesmaids actress Rebel Wilson. It hits UK screens in August.
