Radio and TV presenter Lisa Snowdon says she has not encountered ageism in her career.

Unmarried and child-free at 42, the former girlfriend of Hollywood star George Clooney told the Mail on Sunday's You magazine: "I get asked about ageism in TV time and time again, but truthfully it hasn't been an issue for me.

"I firmly believe that I have the jobs that I have because I'm the best person for them. I'm definitely more of a pop-culture vulture than a lot of women my age and inevitably there will come a time when that interest starts to wane, but right now I'm loving what I do.

"I'm good at living in the moment. I have a meditation app on my phone."

Snowdon, who co-hosts London's Capital Breakfast Show, and a new Channel 4 lifestyle and cookery show, The Weekend Kitchen With Waitrose, says she might have cosmetic surgery.

She said: "I've booked Botox and fillers in the past and chickened out at the last minute. I've seen some good results and some bad ones and then I think: 'What am I going to do if it looks terrible and everybody says, 'What did you do?'

"Also, I'm so animated that I think it might look silly. But if I did have anything done then I would keep quiet about it. It's just not the right time yet."
