TV presenter Maura Derrane tweets picture of baby bump
TODAY presenter Maura Derrane has tweeted a picture of her bump ahead of the arrival of her baby.
She announced her pregnancy back in January.
More recently Derrane said "people seem fascinated by anyone over 40 having a child".
Speaking to the RTE Guide, the 43-year-old RTE star, who is married to TD John Deasy, said she now is the "right time" for her to have a child and it "feels perfectly normal".
The Today presenter said she didn't make her pregnancy news public until she was five months along, as she was keen to keep it quiet for as long as she couldd.
"I really wanted to leave it as long as possible to make sure that everything was okay, so I wanted to get past the three months and then even up to four months things can go wrong.
"Then to be honest, I wasn't showing very much, so I got to five months without having to say anything. I knew there would be a reaction so I felt I should leave it for a while."
