Tom Cruise has revealed that he is hoping to travel into space one day, according to reports.
The Hollywood superstar said he liked the idea of going into orbit on one of Virgin boss Richard Branson's upcoming commercial space flights - although he confessed he wouldn't want to be one of the first civilians to take the trip, reported The Sun.
He said: "Who wouldn't want to do something like that? I'm going to let a couple of other people test it out first but it would be great.
"I was always hoping when I was a kid that we would be travelling to different planets by now."
Tom, who plays a veteran soldier battling an alien race in new science fiction movie Oblivion, also revealed he is open to the existence of extraterrestrials.
The 50-year-old said: "I don't think you can actually count it out. It might be a little arrogant to think we were the only ones in all the galaxies throughout the universe - but I've never met one!"
Several celebs have previously expressed an interest in Virgin Galactic's space flights, including Ashton Kutcher, Tom Hanks and Katy Perry.
