THEY may have the reputation of being party boys, but tonight One Direction will prepare for the first of their sold-out shows in Dublin, by having a nice cup of tea.
The boyband have requested boxes of tea bags, milk and kettles in their dressing rooms, as their management have imposed a party ban until after their show.
Also on the band’s request list is some of their other favourite tipples – Jameson whiskey and beer – but these won’t be touched until the boys come off stage.
The band are expected to stay in the Fitzwilliam Hotel on St Stephen’s Green for their first night in Dublin, as they favour the four star hotel’s underground carpark for security reasons.
However with fans expected to throng outside, plans are being made for the band to move to another top secret hotel for their second night, before they travel to Belfast for the first of four shows in the Odyssey on Thursday night.
Yesterday Niall Horan arrived in Ireland a day ahead of the rest of the band, to catch up with his family and friends ahead of his homecoming gig.
His family have divided up their allocated tickets for the gigs, to ensure that everyone gets to see the group.
"I'll get to catch up with Niall briefly –but there'll be no taking him to dinner or anything," his mum Maura Gallagher said.
Mrs Gallagher relocated to the UK last year to be near her son but she has since returned to Edgeworthstown in Longford.
"I'm back three weeks now and I saw Niall before coming home, which was nice," she said.
"I wanted to be near him to help out if I could – but, to be honest, he's seldom around and the boys are so well looked after, that there was no need."
