Channing Tatum will slow down once his baby is born

Channing Tatum has said he hopes he doesn't mess up being a dad.

The Magic Mike actor and his actress wife Jenna Dewan are expecting their first baby later this year, and the star said raising a child will be the most important thing he has ever done.

He told People: "That [will] be the biggest role of my life. I hope I don't screw that one up."

Channing has plenty of movies in the pipeline - including drama Foxcatcher and action thriller White House Down - but revealed he will be taking some time to focus on parenthood when their baby arrives.

"I hope to slow to down a little bit when the little person comes into the world," said the 32-year-old, who married his Step Up co-star Jenna in 2009.
