Supermodel Naomi Campbell injured after violent mugging in Paris
SUPERMODEL Naomi Campbell is said to have been left temporarily confined to a wheelchair after being violently robbed in Paris over a month ago.
It has been reported that Naomi Campbell was violently mugged in Paris over a month ago, leaving her with a torn ligament in her leg and temporarily confining her to a wheelchair.
The British supermodel was allegedly hailing a taxi in the French capital when she was "knocked over and robbed", reports the New York Post .
Although it is not known what was stolen, a source tells the publication that Campbell believes "the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone."
Following the assault, Campbell's billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, is said to have flown her to Colorado where she was treated by top orthopaedic surgeon J. Richard Steadman, and has also upped her personal security.
Over recent weeks, the 42-year-old model has been spotted using crutches and a motorised wheelchair to aid her impaired mobility. Although the injury did prevent Naomi from taking her usual trip to Roman Abramovich's lavish New Year's Eve party in St Barts, she is said to have hosted an alternative bash at her home on Miami's Star Island.
Both Campbell and her agent have declined to comment on the matter, with Campbell politely telling the publication: "I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine."
