Ronan Keating has shown off his ‘‘battle wounds’’ after his stint in hospital.

The singer posted a picture to Twitter of his chest and stomach patched up with dressings.

‘‘This time last week I was on the operating table. Check out my Battle wounds. Thanx for all your well wishes [sic],’’ he tweeted.

The singer was rushed to hospital with a mysterious illness last week.

Following the procedure, believed to be for the removal of his gallbladder, he assured fans he was ‘‘doing well.’’ 

Ronan’s family and girlfriend took care of Ronan when he returned home from hospital.

“Cooking a big batch of chicken soup for my little patient,” girlfriend Storm Uechtritz wrote online.

“Thank you for all the well wishes to Ro, everything’s OK and he’ll be back to himself soon.”

Ronan advised fans to never take the feeling of sun on their face for granted.

“Fresh air. Sun on my face. Never take it for granted,” Ronan wrote following his return from hospital.

He also thanked his girlfriend Storm publicly for her support.

“So grateful to my friends and family for all your kind words today and to my Storm for holding my hand. I love you all,” he wrote.

Storm simply replied, “Always baby x.”

The couple recently returned to Ireland following a luxury breaks in both the Maldives and the Alps.
