SINGER LeAnn Rimes spent the evening in A&E at a Dublin hospital instead of playing a show at Vicar Street tonight.
The US songstress took to Twitter to reveal she had been in such pain with a sore throat that she was forced to go to hospital in Dublin.
She tweeted: “Never thought I'd see the ER in Dublin. I have coughed myself into pain. The spasm is intense. Being human sucks sometimes.”
Later, LeAnn tweeted a photo of a whiteboard provided by her hotel to help her communicate.
Hundreds of disappointed fans had bought tickets for the show but got only a couple of hours’ notice of the cancellation of the gig.
Last night, the singer had tweeted an image of herself partying with employees of Twitter’s Dublin office and looking forward to the show at Vicar Street tonight.
A press release issued through Aiken Promotion this evening apologised for the cancellation of her gig.
"LeAnn Rimes regrets to announce that due to illness tonight’s performance at Vicar Street has been cancelled. She would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
