Simon Cowell raises $1m for charity – by singing Power Rangers theme tune
POP mogul Simon Cowell has raised $1m (€720,000) for charity – by singong one line of the power rangers theme tune.
The X Factor creator was attending a fundraising event for the Friends of the Israel Defence Forces.
Haim Saban, the billionaire creator of Power Rangers, revealed at the event that during the 1990s Cowell had approached him about recording a disco version of the theme song.
He then offered to donate $1m if Cowell sang the theme tune in front of the crowd at the event.
Cowell only sang one line of the song before refusing to do more, however Saben said “I’m paying $1m for this, I want more”.
Cowell then said he’s donate $250,000 if he was allowed stop – an offer Saben accepted.
