IT’S not normally possible to keep a secret in Hollywood – but ‘Scandal’ star Kerry Washington kept the birth of her baby under wraps for two weeks.
The 37-year-old actress and husband Nnamdi Asomugha welcomed daughter Isabella Amarachi Asomugha on April 21st, according to TMZ.
However Washington has proved she’s good at keeping quiet on her private life in the past.
Last June she got married in secret – in fact the media weren’t even aware the pair were dating.
She joked earlier this year about the pregnancy:
"I'm feeling really great and very grateful. This is nothing compared to 16 hour days on Scandal," she laughed.
Fans were amused during the finale of hit show 'Scandal' at the methods producers used to attempt to hide Washington's baby bump.
She previously explained her decision not to talk about her private life:
“I learned through experience that it doesn’t work for me to talk about my personal life,” she previously told the US edition of Glamour magazine.
“I’ve had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it. I was on the cover of a bridal magazine [InStyle Weddings, in 2005, when Washington was engaged to actor David Moscow]. But I couldn’t just turn around and say, ‘I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.’ So I just thought, ‘OK, no more.’”
