Selena Gomez has bailed on her six-week rehab programme, despite advice from medical professionals.

TMZ reports that the actress and singer has walked out of rehab just 14 days into her month-and-a-half-long programme.

Sources told the website that the 21-year-old checked into The Meadows after New Year’s and signed up to a programme called DAWN which is for alcohol, marijuana and addiction to prescriptive insomnia drugs.

Selena left rehab to attend the Sundance Film Festival for her upcoming movie and said she would return after the festival.

However, the singer reportedly found no reason to attend The Meadows and did not return to rehab.

The treatment is 45-days long and staff at The Meadows feel it is essential in any recovery to finish the course of therapy.
