Rupert Sanders' marriage appears to have come to an end, just months after his affair with Kristen Stewart.
The filmmaker's wife Liberty Ross filed for divorce at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, People reported.
TMZ claims that the 34-year-old model - who never publicly commented after it emerged that her husband had cheated on her with the Twilight star - is seeking joint custody of the couple's two children.
Rupert, 41, has filed his response to the divorce petition and is also seeking joint custody of the kids.
The news comes around six months after it was revealed that Rupert had a fling with Kristen, who he directed in Snow White And The Huntsman.
Pictures in a US magazine showed the director and the actress, who was dating Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson at the time, cuddling and kissing.
Both issued apologies, with Rupert saying he was "utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family".
"My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together," he added.
Kristen, 23, called the fling a "momentary indiscretion" and said it had jeopardised "the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob".
She and R-Patz later rekindled their romance.
