Russell Brand 'destroys' US tv hosts in embarrassing interview
The comedian put the professionals to shame in cringe-worthy interview on MSNBC.
Russell Brand joined the round table at the Morning Joe show to promote his upcoming tour, The Messiah Complex, and after his performance, it's safe to say he should expect a sold-out reception (see video).
During the eight-minute cringe-worthy interview, MSNBC morning news anchors were put to shame by the movie star's quick wit and professionalism - as he was even forced to correct one of the presenters several times, who kept incorrectly referring to him as 'Willie', rather than Russell.
He was then forced to mention his own tour dates and website information in a mocking fashion, as the norm is for hosts to reference this at the end of the interview.
Meanwhile, his ex-wife Katy Perry has revealed in the new issue of Vogue magazine that Brand (38) was not comfortable with the singer being his equal.
"Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me, saying he was divorcing me on December 31, 2011," she told the magazine.
Perry said the British comedian was "hysterical in some ways until he started making jokes about me" when he did not know that she was in the audience at one of his shows.
She told the July issue of 'Vogue': "I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they're, like, I can't handle the equalness. He didn't like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour.
"So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting. I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can't necessarily disclose."
Perry, who has recently been linked to 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson, said she was no longer seeing singer John Mayer, but added that she was still "madly in love" with the US singer-songwriter.
