Rosanna's family 'devastated' by her uncle's death
Rosanna Davison's New Year holiday endured a sad ending with the news that her uncle had passed away.
The former Miss World said that her family were "devastated" at the loss.
Peter Morley, a younger brother of Rosanna's mum Diane, passed away on Wednesday night after a long illness.
He is survived by Diane and his three other siblings Gill, Susan and David.
The Dublin model and her dad, singer Chris De Burgh, paid tribute to the 57-year-old, who they said had been sick for more than half of his life.
"We are all devastated. He was an amazing man and we were close to him," Rosanna said. "However, he had suffered a long illness so he's now at peace and free from pain."
Mr Morley, who lived in Blackrock, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 30 years ago.
Despite his suffering, 29-year-old Rosanna said her uncle will be remembered for his humour and optimistic outlook on life.
"He was incredibly brave and always cheerful and cracking jokes. He will be deeply missed," she added.
Lady In Red singer Chris paid a poignant tribute to the man known to his family and friends as Flinch.
"You humbled us all with your fortitude, hope, inspiration and laughter," Chris said on Facebook.
Mr Morley's funeral is this Monday.
