Robert Powell has signed up to be the voice of The Bible.
The 69-year-old - who is known for his distinctive voice and previously played Jesus in ITV series Jesus Of Nazareth - will be the narrator of the US drama when it comes to Channel 5 in December.
Keith David is the narrator for the US version.
Created by producer and three-time Emmy Award winner Mark Burnett, the five-part, 10-hour programme combines unforgettable and profound stories with live action and state-of-the-art computer-generated imagery.
From Genesis to Revelation, The Bible, which stars Diogo Morgado, Roma Downey and Darwin Shaw, features some of the most famous stories ever written and some of the most iconic characters from Noah's Ark and the Exodus to Daniel in the lion's den and the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
Robert, who has also starred in The Thirty Nine Steps, The Italian Job and Tommy, played the hospital's CEO Mark Williams in BBC One medical drama Holby City, and was in the sitcom The Detectives alongside Jasper Carrott.
The Bible, which has smashed the ratings in the US, Canada and Australia, had 13 million viewers on cable in America.
