ROBBIE Keane's star quality in the US is set to reach new heights after becoming LA Galaxy's poster boy.

An image of him in action will be emblazoned on the back of buses in Los Angeles.

An animated image of the frontman – who captains both Ireland and LA Galaxy – is being used to promote his club and the overall popularity of the game stateside.

He replaces English star David Beckham, who transferred to French club Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year.

The midfield talisman was the main attraction throughout his tenure at the club from 2007 to 2012 and struck 18 goals for the Galaxy in 98 appearances.

But since his departure Keane has taken over his mantle and is a firm favourite with fans, after scoring 18 goals in 32 games for the US outfit since leaving for Los Angeles in 2011.
