Renee was Bridget Jones

The 44-year-old actor was on the red carpet at an Armani event in New York sporting a very different face.

The actress was unrecognisable compared to her days in Bridget Jones, with several websites speculating she may have had plastic surgery.

The Jerry Maguire star looked more like fellow actresses Diane Kruger and Robin Wright Penn at the gala event, with chiselled cheekbones, heavy eyebrows and a tight  forehead.

The actress famously lost and gained 30 pounds for her role in the Bridget Jones’s Diary movies, and has kept a low profile in recent years, shunning the limelight to produce and direct movies instead.

She also is said to have fallen out with Helen Fielding, the Bridget Jones author, so her appearance in the third movie in the franchise seems unlikely.

Her love life is however on the up, having had failed romances with Jim Carrey, Bradley Cooper and a short lived marriage to  Kenny Chesney.  She is now said to be in a long term relationship with musician Doyle Bramhall.
