CLASSIC Hits 4FM presenter Niall Boylan found out live on air today that his home was broken into and ransacked.
The presenter got a call off his distressed wife to tell him she had found a window broken and house upturned.
He swiftly departed the studio during an ad break - forcing show producer Mike Hogan to step in at the last minute.
Hogan told listeners: "Niall got a call, and you may have noticed on the air he was a little bit distracted and we were all a little bit concerned for him."
Boylan later spoke to Hogan about the break in:
"They didn't take anything but just wrecked the place. I always feared something like this would happen because I get threats all the time from some listeners who don't like what I say.
"I'm talking to Gardaí about it and they are investigating."
He added that he believes his wife Donna disturbed the burglars, and that they may have only been in the back garden when she returned.
"You just feel violated, that these people have been in your home. Not knowing what has been taken."
"It's a shocking thing when your house is destroyed like that."
