FORMER Miss Ireland Sarah Morrissey was beaming proudly as she showed off her sparkling new engagement ring from fitness coach beau Pat Jennings Jnr for the first time in public.
The 29-year-old model debuted her square-cut diamond engagement ring at an awards ceremony.
Sarah dazzled in a festive scarlet sequined dress with a plunging neckline.
She completed the look with a simple red clutch bag, drop chandelier earrings and wore her hair in a vintage Veronica Lake-style do.
Despite dating former Derry City goalkeeper turned fitness coach Pat Jnr for more than five years, Sarah was shocked when the soccer star got down on one knee during a romantic weekend away earlier this month.
The couple were on holiday in New York when Pat popped the question.
Tweeting after the proposal Sarah said: “Yep it's true, he liked it so he put a ring on it LOL. Celebrating our engagement at Fitzpatrick's Grand Central.”
Sarah and Pat were immediately inundated with messages and tweet congratulations from their showbiz pals including Nadia Forde, Roz Purcell and Michele McGrath.
Sarah says she always knew that Pat was ‘The One’ but was in no hurry to race down the aisle.
The Assets model had previously said that every time she went on holiday with Pat, her pals were quick to ask if they had got engaged on her return but always to no avail.
“Everybody is waiting for the day,” Sarah said at the time. “I feel sorry for the girls because every time I went away they'd be saying, “oh you're next”, but now they don't even ask. It's so funny.”
But now Sarah is getting ready to start blissful married life and judging by her smile she can't wait.
The star-studded Bank of Ireland Excellence in Sports Awards took place in Dublin's Burlington Hotel last night and helps to raise funds for the Irish Youth Foundation.
Rugby captain Brian O'Driscoll and golfer Padraig Harrington were in attendance to see Rob Kearney and Eoin Reddan pick up the Leinster Award.
Olympian Katie Taylor wore a blue halter-neck dress with diamante detail and her hair pulled back in a simple up do. She attended the event with teammate Paddy Barnes.
Ex-motor-racing boss Eddie Jordan was also at the glitzy black tie dinner.
