Penn: Marriage is a 'fraud' to me

Sean Penn has revealed that he has never felt loved.
The Oscar-winning Hollywood star, 52, has been married and divorced twice - to singer-filmmaker Madonna and actress Robin Wright Penn.
"There is no shame in my saying that we all want to be loved by someone. As I look back over my life in romance, I don't feel I've ever had that. I have been the only one that was unaware of the fraud in a few of these circumstances blindly," he told US Esquire.
Sean, who next stars in Gangster Squad with Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Josh Brolin, admitted that all he needs is love in his life.
"When you get divorced, all the truths that come out, you sit there and you go, 'What the f*** was I doing? What was I doing believing that this person was invested in this way?'" continued the Haiti activist.
"Which is a fantastically strong humiliation in the best sense. It can make somebody very bitter and very hard and closed off, but I find it does the opposite to me."
Sean and Madonna were married for four years from 1985 to 1989, and he was married to Robin from 1996 to 2010. The couple, who have two children together, initially filed for divorce in December 2007, before their divorce was finalised three years later.
