Ozzy Osbourne has apologised to wife Sharon and his family after confessing he has fallen off the wagon.
The 64-year-old has battled drink and drug addiction for many years, and amid reports he has been living separately from wife Sharon he confessed on his Facebook page his behaviour over the past 18 months had been "insane". But he insisted he has been sober again for 44 days.
Ozzy wrote: "For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an a**hole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober."
He added: "Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I'm just trying to be a better person.
"I would like to apologise to Sharon, my family, my friends and my bandmates for my insane behaviour during this period... and my fans. God bless, Ozzy."
A representative for the couple denied reports their marriage was on the rocks after it was revealed the Black Sabbath frontman was living in a rented mansion, while Sharon was staying in a Los Angeles hotel as her Beverly Hills home is being renovated.
Their son Jack Osbourne also took to Twitter to slam the split claims.
He wrote: "...it's all bulls***. Last time I check a lot of British news papers weren't amazing sources of accurate information. Moving on..."
Sharon and Ozzy have been married for over 30 years and have three children, Aimee, Kelly and Jack.
Last year they became grandparents for the first time when Jack and wife Lisa Stelly welcomed baby daughter Pearl.
