POP stars One Direction have confirmed that they are going to star in their own 3D movie.
The teenage heartthrobs will follow in the footsteps of Justin Bieber and Katy Perry and will offer fans a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of the boyband members.
Mullingar-born Niall Horan (19) announced the news as the chart-topping group performed at the Rockefeller Plaza in New York City on American chat show programme the 'Today' show.
Cameras will follow Horan and his One Direction band mates Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne over the coming months and the film is expected to release in cinemas on August 30, 2013.
Spurlock said: "This is an incredible opportunity and an amazing moment in time for the band. To capture this journey and share it with audiences around the world will be an epic undertaking."
Meanwhile, 'X Factor' veteran Louis Walsh (left) believes his band Union J and the axed band District Three are poised to take over from One Direction.
"We need a new boyband because One Direction are going to be in America all next year and JLS are different. They're more established," he said.
