Norton: My secret Baftas wine stash
Graham Norton has revealed he will have an emergency wine stash at the Bafta TV Awards.
The 51-year-old, who will host the glitzy ceremony on May 18, plans to hoard a few bottles backstage to calm his nerves down.
"I use wine. I always have wine, though I don't bring it on stage with me - normally because there's nowhere to put it," he told Closer.
"But if you're there on the night, you do see me disappear quite a lot, and that's when I'm going to my emergency wine station."
He added: "I do (get nervous). It's not like doing a regular show; it's more or less live, and with an audience of... my betters. You wouldn't be human if you didn't get a bit nervous."
Graham, whose chat show The Graham Norton Show has been nominated in two categories including best entertainment performance alongside Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Charlie Brooker's 10 O'Clock Live and Sarah Millican's show, admitted the event isn't all glitz and glamour.
"There's the backstage bit, which is always grimy and horrible, then there's the coach trip to the dinner after the ceremony, when everyone gets taken to the Grosvenor House hotel in their finery. It's very hard to make that bit glamorous - you are on a bus," he said.
The Arqiva British Academy Television Awards take place on May 18 at the Theatre Royal in London.
