Thandie Newton strips off for a steamy role in her new TV series Rogue.

Run Fatboy Run actress Thandie plays an undercover detective out to discover the cause of her son's mysterious death.

But despite her character being married, she gets into a passionate affair with criminal Jimmy Laszlo, played by Marton Csokas, in the 10-part drama which launched in the US last week.

Thandie, 40, admits the role was a challenge because she is barely off screen for any of the series, but is proud of it.

According to The Sun she said: "I do think it's my best work, definitely.

"Partly because 10 hours is a long time, you know, and it's also a long shooting period and that's a lot of character to portray and, as a result, yeah, I reached into places that I wouldn't normally go."

The Crash actress was also seen in Cannes this week at a glitzy party where she stepped out in a metallic silver dress.

She was at the MIPTV 50th Anniversary Opening Gala at the Festival Palace in Cannes.

The MIPTV is a leading trade event for international TV programmes, digital content and interactive entertainment.

Other stars at the Opening Gala included Famke Janssen, Felix Baumgartner, Laura Haddock and Tom Riley.
