Newlyweds Rosanna and Wesley celebrate marriage with low-key meal
Rosanna Davison marked her nuptials with a low-key trip to her favourite Indian restaurant.
Speaking for the first time since becoming Mrs Quirke, Rosanna told the Herald: "It was the most magical day and we were so lucky with the weather.
“Friday was just the legal part before the main reception next month, so we wanted to keep it small and private for just family and close friends,” she said.
“It was lovely to have it in the Merrion and celebrate afterwards with lunch, rather than the registry office as it was more personal.”
And despite being the daughter of uber-wealthy musician Chris de Burgh, it seems she has just married into one of Ireland’s richest families.
Wes’s arcade owner father Richard Quirke has just been named at number 237 on the Sunday Times Rich List with a fortune of €46m.
This compares with De Burgh’s estimated wealth which was listed at €45m in 2013.
But it was back to basics for the newlyweds as they headed to the southside restaurant for a low-key night in the wake of their Merrion Hotel nuptials.
They stayed in the plush penthouse suite of the city centre hotel on Friday night - but clearly craved something more relaxed for the following night.
Rosanna and Wes were joined by her brothers Michael and Hubie as well as her parents Chris and Diane.
They swapped vows at a civil ceremony in the five-star hotel on Friday, where they were joined by just 25 guests as they kept things intimate and private. The couple also asked that no photos be posted on social media sites on the day.
The following day saw Rosanna and Wes being inundated with messages of congratulations after changing her status to Married’ and posted up a photo of a Just married’ sign.
It’s a case of one down and two to go for the Herald columnist. Her Dublin wedding is just one of three events planned to mark her nuptials in style.
She’ll shortly jet off to Ibiza for her June 1 bash at the Atzaro hotel where she’ll be joined by 100 of her closest friends and family.
It will be a two-day affair for the happy couple as they make it an occasion to remember with many of Ireland’s best-known models expected to attend.
Her father Chris is also due to perform a few songs on the day and the menu will cater for Rosanna’s strict vegan diet.
Trained nutritionist Rosanna has indicated they’ll stay on in Ibiza for their honeymoon before coming back for their June 21 party in the Powerscourt Hotel in Enniskerry.
She and Wes, who have been together for eight years, have again asked their 250 guests not to put any pictures of the bash on social media sites as they’ll have their own photographer there on the day.
