'Nervous' model Nadia prepares to belt out the national anthem at our big World Cup tie
She's been building up her singing portfolio in LA and now Nadia Forde has bagged her first stadium gig.
The model will belt out Amhrán na bhFiann in front of thousands of fans ahead of Ireland's first World Cup qualifier match against Sweden on September 6.
And the 23-year-old is understandably feeling slightly anxious ahead of the match.
"I'm singing the national anthem at the Irish game. In the Aviva. So that's quite a big one," she laughed.
"I am nervous. It's one of those things when they ask you, you can't actually say no because it's your country. It's amazing to be asked."
"I didn't have to audition – it was just through work. They just asked me," she explained.
"It will be the first time people hear me sing. I have been practising a lot.
"I think the pressure of the day will be a scary thing and I'm hoping I don't mess up," she added.
And it looks like this won't be Nadia's last time performing before screaming fans. The sultry model is currently based in LA filming a new reality TV series for a UK broadcaster.
During the course of the show Nadia attempts to unleash her inner pop goddess and break into the music industry.
"We were rehearsing in the same space as Taylor Swift and recording in the same studio as Bruno Mars so that was a lot of fun. It was amazing actually."
"I have a record deal, which is great. I don't know when I'm releasing an album – it's very early days – I'm just recording it at the moment. It's quite a pop sound."
And Nadia says the LA camera crew will be jetting over to Ireland later this summer to film her hanging out around Dublin town.
Filming for the series has been fairly demanding and Nadia, who was in Kildare for the launch of Cannonball 2013, says it's great to be back on home turf.
And there's good news for the fellas; the chatty model says LA muscle men have failed to impress her. "None of the LA men have been catching my eye. I haven't had time," she said.
