The film, which had its world premiere on Sunday (September 8), featured an ensemble cast led by the late Glee star and was the feature-length directorial debut of Gia Milani.

Gia, who had previously made three short films, was also given the emerging filmmaker award and 10,000 US dollars prize money.

It was also one of the final films Cory made before his death in July 13.

"THANK YOU!!!!!!! Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox So grateful. Amazing. Thank so much," Gia tweeted.

All The Wrong Reasons, which was also written by Gia and was inspired by a friend suffering from post traumatic stress disorder after a tour of duty in Afghanistan, tells the entangled stories of four store employees.

Cory played the store's ambitious manager James, whose wife - security camera monitor Kate (Karine Vanasse) - suffers from PTSD.

Gia revealed the film had been up in the air after the actor who was originally meant to play James dropped out, before Cory stepped in and "saved" the movie.

"My producer said we're going to have to shut down. He did save the film," she told The Globe And Mail.

The Canadian filmmaker admitted she couldn't watch the film since Cory's death and could only do so with an audience.
