MODEL Madeline Mulqueen was left "in shock" after a fellow customer in a fast food restaurant punched her in the face.
The 21 year old was nursing a sore jaw over the weekend after she was hit while standing in the queue at McDonald's on Grafton Street in Dublin.
Mulqueen, best known for her role in a Rubberbandits video, had come to the defence of a McDonald's employee over a payment issue when an angry customer rounded on her.
"I didn't see it coming, it was a real shock," she told the Irish Independent last night.
"You never think something like that would happen to you.
"It was very busy and this girl decided to push past everyone claiming she was getting some sauce for whatever she wanted and everyone just said, 'Oh she's getting food, she's being cheeky'.
"She then claimed she'd given more money than she actually did and started to abuse the woman behind the till.
"I noticed she only gave €5 but she was claiming she'd given €20. So I pulled the manager aside about it to say it to them.
"The woman obviously heard me, because she ran up to me and gave me the biggest punch I've ever gotten in my life across the jaw.
"I was just trying to stick up for the woman behind the till," added Mulqueen.
Mulqueen, who filmed an episode of RTE comedy series 'Republic of Telly' yesterday, reported the incident to Pearse Street garda station.
