Miley Cyrus dedicates raunchy stage performance to dog who died last week
HANNAH Montana star put on a raunchy performance in leather and studs last night, as a tribute she said to her puppy who passed away.
It would seem that singer Miley Cyrus is keen to put as much distance between her current image and her former Disney persona.
The 20-year-old took to the stage at the VH1 Diva show in a pair of skin tight leather trousers and a midriff baring studded top to cover Billy Idol’s song Rebel Yell at the Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.
Not only did her outfit leave little to the imagination. Her performance was equally suggestive as the singer, who is engaged to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, grinded her way through the song, at times groping herself and grabbing her crotch.
She dedicated her risqué performance to her late puppy Lila, who died last week, reported VH1.com.
"That was for you, Lila," she said after the pyro-laden performance.
The singer later tweeted: "Feeling connected to my baby girl Lila after tonight. I know she's up in doggy heaven proud of her mommy for staying strong."
Paloma Faith, Demi Lovato and Natasha Bedingfield also performed on the night.
Last week Miley’s performance was similarly provocative when she appeared on stage at the Music Box in Los Angeles. The scantily-clad singer gryated and performed alongside a topless dancer on stage.
Miley, who is set to wed Hunger Games actor Liam next summer, has not revealed a date for the wedding yet.
The star said: "I am married in my heart and my mind. I do everything that I would be if I had the paper, but I want to take the time to actually enjoy it.”
The couple got engaged in May after the Australian actor proposed with a 3.5 carat diamond ring.
She caused concern about their relationship earlier this year after opening up about her feelings on Twitter.
“ever feel like you want just.... something more. not sure what exactly... passion perhaps? (sic)” she wrote.
She then admitted she often feels as if she is more caring than most people.
“sometimes i feel like i love everyone more than they love me. hatttte that feeling,” she tweeted. “Thought of the day: maybe it's not that they love you less, they just love you the most they are capable of loving (sic).”
She then quickly reassured her fans she was thinking in general terms and it wasn’t a reflection of her romance with Liam, 22.
“& no there is not trouble in paradise.... just thoughts,” she wrote.
