Meryl Streep has admitted she "craves" Oscar nominations.
The actress - who has been nominated for her 18th Academy Award for her performance in August: Osage County - revealed on US TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live that she still loves being recognised for her work, reported The Wrap.
"There are aspects of it that are terrifying, like getting a dress that you know will be torn apart the next day by everybody, but it's very exciting," she said.
Jimmy asked: "So you like that, it's not like Woody Allen."
And Meryl - who already has three Oscars on her mantelpiece - replied: "I don't like it. But I crave it, I guess."
The star also explained that despite her success, she still feels like she has to audition for parts.
"In a way I feel like I have to audition every time I begin, because my... reputation is so hideously huge that everybody is like, looking really hard. So it feels like an audition, that first reading of anything."
Meryl, 64, is nominated in the best actress category at this year's Academy Awards alongside Amy Adams, Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench and Sandra Bullock.
