Leighton Meester is to make her Broadway debut as a beautiful temptress in the revival of the classic drama Of Mice And Men.
The actress - who is best known for playing Blair Waldorf in hit television series Gossip Girl - will join James Franco and Chris O'Dowd in the story about an unlikely friendship between two migrant field workers in California during the Great Depression.
The story by John Steinbeck centres on big-dreaming George and the mentally challenged Lennie.
Leighton, 27, will play the wife of a ranch boss who fascinates Lennie and endangers their fates.
The play, which starts in March at the Longacre Theatre, has not been seen on Broadway in 40 years.
