Lopez 'won't be returning to Idol'
Jennifer Lopez will not be returning to American Idol, according to reports.
The singer and actress was a judge on the tenth and eleventh seasons of the US show and there have been rumours she will return to the panel for the next series, following the departure of Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
However, a source told E! News J-Lo won't be back, insisting: "It's not happening."
J-Lo herself has been vague about the claims.
She previously said that she felt her Idol days were in the past, but was quoted as telling the show's host Ryan Seacrest in a recent interview on his radio show: "We will see. I'm always open to the infinite possibilities that the universe has to offer. So you never know."
Last month Mariah and Nicki both announced they were leaving after just one season on the panel. Veteran judge Randy, who sat on the original panel alongside Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, announced ahead of the 12th season finale that he was also saying goodbye to the show.
It is not yet known if Keith Urban, who was also a judge for the last series, will return.
New names linked to the show include former Idol contestants Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken.
