Kanye West has appeared on US TV and declared himself a "creative genius".
The rapper appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's show to talk through their recent "feud" after Jimmy ran a comedy sketch in which a child re-enacted an interview by the rapper. The spoof prompted Kanye to launch an angry attack on Twitter.
Appearing on the show, Kanye told Jimmy he had used the spat to vent his anger at all the representations of him he felt were unfair.
He said: "I knew you before, so when I saw the video, which I didn't watch all the way through because I didn't want to be infuriated, I said, 'Well, I know you.' So I can go and let out anything that I feel... every person who feels it's OK to treat celebrities like zoo animals.
"At a certain point these egos can flare up and we kinda just took it back to high school for a little bit."
Jimmy claimed he had not meant to infer that Kanye was like a child, but had run the sketch because he likes hearing children swear. He added: "A lot of times, I think you bring it on yourself. I don't know if you know this, but a lot of people think you're a jerk."
The rapper replied: "I'm not running for office. And when I did that interview, I was vocal about a lot of things that I've been dealing with over the last 10 years as I was put in the classification of 'just' a celebrity, because for me, I'm a creative genius, and there's no other way to word it.
"I know you're not supposed to say that about yourself and I say things the wrong way a lot of times, but my intention is always positive."
"For me to say I wasn't a genius, I would just be lying to you and to myself... You're gonna love me or you're gonna hate me, but I'm gonna be me."
