JR to get great Dallas send-off
JR Ewing's Dallas exit will remain a mystery until March, executive producer Cynthia Cidre has revealed.
Following the death of actor Larry Hagman from cancer in November, bosses on the rebooted TV show have had to work out a way of giving JR a fitting send-off.
Five of Season 2's 15 episodes had been filmed before Hagman passed away aged 81, and Cidre told USA Today that a leftover scene Hagman filmed will be incorporated into his exit storyline.
Viewers will eventually find out how JR leaves in the eighth episode, which airs in the US on March 11. Cidre teased of the plot: "There are no straight lines on Dallas. That's why people tune in."
Meanwhile, Hagman's co-star Linda Gray, who plays his wife Sue Ellen Ewing, said the funeral and memorial service is done with "beautiful dignity," and will help give closure to fans of the show.
