Jon Bon Jovi’s daughter’s overdose comes as horrible shock to singer

Jon Bon Jovi was horribly surprised to learn that his daughter overdosed on heroin.

The 50-year-old rocker’s eldest child Stephanie Rose Bongiovi was discovered catatonic in her Hamilton College dorm room at around 2am.

Stephanie, 19, was rushed to hospital and was subsequently released on Thursday.

She and fellow university student Ian Grant, 21, faced three counts of drug possession for heroin and marijuana, but the charges were dismissed due to New York State’s Good Samaritan 911 law.

Apparently no one in the Bongiovi family saw this coming.

"This was a shock," a source told Us Weekly magazine.

"A very sad shock.”

Jon has four children, Stephanie and three sons, with his wife Dorothea Hurley.

He and Stephanie have a tight relationship and he can’t believe he was blind sided by this incident.

"[Stephanie] is really close with her dad," a second insider said.

"He's a very good dad who loves his kids. We were shocked [to hear about what happened]. Stephanie is a sweetheart and so down-to-earth. She always wanted to party, but not in a way that made anyone think differently of her over any other teenager."
