SAM Stynes, the widow of Aussie Rules legend Jim Stynes, is reported to have found love again with an acquaintance of her late husband’s.

According to an  Australian magazine, Sam Stynes, who buried her beloved husband 18 months ago, is dating Geeff Porz, a businessman who sponsors the Melbourne Demons, the team that Jim played for.

Photos in the  Australian magazine show 39-year-old Sam with Porz, and her daughter Maddie and son Tiernan , looking relaxed on a shopping spree.

According to the magazine, Sam has announced to friends that she has recently “re-partnered” and according to today’s Irish Daily Star, the couple recently attended a golf event in Melbourne together.

One guest said:” They looked very comfortable together. Sam looked smitten.”

Sam was by Jim’s side through his three year battle with cancer and led the mourners at the state funeral given to Jim in Melbourne in March last year.

She came to Ireland this time last year to launch the book "Jim Stynes - My Journey".

Sam spoke movingly in interviews to promote the book of how the disease brought the couple closer together.

“It was beautiful, we just calmed as a couple, and finally our love just flowed. But it took such an event for that to happen and I wouldn’t change it,” she said.

Sam brought Jim’s ashes back to Ireland last September and scattered them at the Sally Gap in the Wicklow Mountains as Jim had requested.

"They were scattered at Sally's Gap, every year when Jim would come home, he would run about 10km from where he lived in Rathfarnham up through there,”  she  explained.

“It was really quite beautiful. I think he'd be quite thrilled. Set free over his home,” she said .
