Oscar winner says Hugh Jackman running to her rescue after her Oscars fall "fixes the whole moment".
The 22-year-old actress' dramatic dress and high heels caused her to take a tumble while climbing the stairs to accept her best actress award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.
Les Misérables actor Hugh got up from his seat to help the struggling star, but she was so overcome by embarrassment she failed to notice the Hollywood hunk lending a hand.
"I just heard about that," she admitted to ET Online.
"I didn't know 'cause I was so in my cloud of, like, 'I want to die.' I had no idea. That actually fixes the whole moment."
Hugh didn't think twice about jumping from his seat to help Jennifer. The Australian actor was "feeling for her" in the moment she tripped in full view of the audience and cameras.
"I thought, 'She's caught in that [dress] and she's falling into the abyss,' but she was fine. She didn't need me," he smiled.
Jennifer was spotted embracing her family with her Oscar in her hand after completing the interview backstage. The star was seen jumping into the arms of her loved ones, holding on to the golden statuette firmly.
Christoph Waltz - who received the best supporting actor prize for Django Unchained - also spoke about his Oscar win. It is the star's second Academy Award, but he insists triumphing in his category was a big surprise.
"I was totally shocked because the nominees this year are the pinnacle. You couldn't possibly dream of being on the same ticket," he smiled.
