Jamie Dornan on modelling: 'People give you a silly amount of money to stand in front of a wall, f**k me you have to do it'
Irish actor Jamie Dornan has opened up about his Calvin Klein underwear modelling days, and it seems rather a case of 'why not', than 'why'.
The Down native, whose star is set to soar when 50 Shades of Grey is released next year, was best known for his buff physique and underwear ads before turning his hand to acting.
And for someone who admits to hating their photo being taken, he was rather a dab hand at posing.
"I've never felt massively satisfied from standing there while someone takes my photograph," he told The Evening Standard. "It's never given me a thrill, but it would take a very foolish man to turn down the stuff that was offered to me.
"You're in your twenties, and people are going to give you a silly amount of money to lean against a wall with your head down. F**k me, you've got to do it."
He previously dated actress Keira Knightley for two years before meeting and eventually marrying his wife Amelia Warner last year.
During their relationship, the famous pair were regular paparazzi fodder, which contributes to the reason why he actively keeps a low profile in Hollywood these days.
"It was a strange environment to find yourself in, being hounded and followed," he explained.
"It's really hideous. F**king hell, [the paparazzi] are cretins. I couldn't have less respect for those guys. There are so many ways to make a living that don't involve hiding in bushes opposite houses of 18-year-old girls with a camera in your hand. That's not making a living, that's making a choice to be a perverted f**khead. That scrutiny when you're older will be easier to take. And I don't think I'm ever going to be as famous as her."
