Jackman's flash visit to sacred spa
Hugh Jackman has told of his embarrassment after he failed to cover up on a visit to a sacred spa in Japan.
The Wolverine star told Wenn how he took a break from filming the new X-Men film on location in the country, and went to visit a sacred spa at the hot springs of Mount Fuji.
Hugh explained: "The place is separated male and female and they hand you a towel, a small washcloth and there are eight different types of tubs with heats of different temperatures.
"I'm getting so hot and I'm using the towel they gave me to dip into the cold water and put it on my head and I was getting very strange looks from everybody. This was at the base of Mount Fuji and I was the only white person there. I thought, 'Maybe this isn't cool and I'm not allowed to be there'.
"I was feeling uncomfortable and finally this guy in the tub grunts and points to my head and then grunts and points to my private parts. Finally I realised the towel was meant to be covering my privates and I'd spent about an hour just waltzing around this place with this thing in one hand and a beer in my other hand!"
The 44-year-old actor also revealed Mount Fuji became a very special place for him as he climbed the peak with his son Oscar.
Hugh - who is playing Wolverine for the fifth time in the new film, and will play him again in X-Men: Days Of Future Past due out next year - also told Collider he would love to see all the major comic book heroes team up for one massive ensemble film.
He said: "I understand at Marvel they've got The Avengers, they've got a lot of big things going on, but at some point I just find it almost impossible that there's not a way to bring Iron Man, all the Avengers characters, Wolverine, the X-Men characters, Spider-Man, and somehow get them in together."
