Earlier this week Us Weekly reported the 34-year-old actor secretly married the Gossip Girl actress.

And when TooFab.com caught up with Adam in a parking lot to ask him whether the marriage rumours are true, The O.C. star delivered a frank reply.

“Yeah,” Adam told photographers before taking off.

This is both Leighton and Adam’s first marriage, with Adam previously linked to his O.C. co-star Rachel Bilson while Leighton dated actor Aaron Himelstein.

Neither Adam nor Leighton speak publicly about their private lives often.

But 27-year-old Leighton has made it clear she takes being in love very seriously.

"I haven't been in a lot of relationships, but I've been in love," she previously told the American edition of Cosmopolitan. "There's an inexplicable chemistry. You just really, really want to, like, stare at the person. I've never fallen in love right off the bat. I get scared to say I love you too soon because it means so much. It means you're not seeing an end to things."

Leighton also insisted she goes for nice guys rather than “bad boys”. According to the actress, it’s much more fulfilling to be with someone you can respect and who respects you.

"I'm not into bad boys. I think the term is stupid. A guy who cheats on you or is not nice to you? What is that?” she said. “I want a guy I can look up to."
