I don't think I have ever read a book twice, but I like to keep all the books I have enjoyed reading. One of these would have been 'The Book Thief'. This is a book I would like to read again.
I like to keep up to date with most recent music. My current favourites are the Coronas, the Script and Florence + The Machine.
I often reflect on the days spent picking potatoes in Cobh. This was my first real job where I worked hard and earned decent money, but also learnt that when you are having fun, the hard work doesn't feel so hard.
Favourite item of clothing
My Firetrap jeans are always a favourite. I'm not a big clothes shopper, so a new top makes life easy along with the reliable jeans.
PERSON WHO MEANT THE MOST
I have great memories of spending time with my grandmother Margaret Shealy in Cobh. I used to stay with my grandparents every weekend and this is where I learnt how to cook and bake cakes and soda bread without any weighing scales.
what advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Explore as much as you can when travelling to different countries as you never know if you'll get the chance to go back again – and keep a diary.
Favourite piece of furniture
My reading chair and footrest; I just wish I had more time to sit and read. I find it hard to read in the daytime as I always think there is something else I should be doing.
I can't really remember, but I do remember lots of kissing games on the buses to races at the weekends and at the community games in Mosney, when I first started going to races with the Cork, Munster and Irish teams.
what characteristic in yourself do you like the most and least?
I can be a bit rigid with my routine and find it difficult to adjust to unexpected changes in my plan for the day.
I like to know before I go to bed the likely plan for tomorrow, and even put out my gear each night so I am ready to go in the morning without any hesitation.
It depends on the occasion, but Belgian beer is always a fav-ourite on a hot day, and Baileys over ice cream for a special treat. In Australia, I make my own limoncella.
