'I married the right man... I'm renewing my marriage vows to Barry' - Sinead O'Connor
The mum-of-four made the announcement on her website last night - and tweeted a picture of her wedding ring.
The star described drugs counsellor Barry as "my absolute harbour whenever seas are rough".
She told fans that Barry had moved in with her two months ago and nursed her back to health following an illness due to "kidney stones and various frights".
"Two years ago I married the right man," she said.
The couple separated shortly after they were married in Las Vegas in 2011 - complete in a pink cadillac.
"However, we did always love each other and marry for the right reasons... and have stayed friends and never got divorced," she said.
"Barry has been my absolute harbour whenever seas were rough.. no matter what. and in the last two months when I was extremely ill because of kidney stones and various frights.. the man moved in here and minded me like I’m a queen (which of course I am) without asking for anything but to be a friend.
"Am delighted to want to say.. since you’ll all notice me wearing a very pretty engagement and wedding ring and may wonder… I haven’t married a fifth time… Robert Downey Jnr just isn’t going to happen… My lovely king of a husband has asked if we would renew our marriage vows," she said.
Sinead said Barry treats her like a "goddess".
He is "kind and gentle and everything a woman could wish for in a husband", she said, before adding that she has "happily agreed" to renew their vows.
"We intend to have a renewal of our wedding vows at some point in the summer and this time with our friends and family present and a proper f*** off party."
She paid tribute to Dubliner Barry saying: "I owe you my happiness.. you’re an angel. Am happiest woman on earth".
She also told fans that she will be appearing on Brendan O'Connor's Saturday Night Show on March 1st.
