The Simpsons has paid tribute to the return of hit drama Homeland, with a special opening credits parody.
The usual title sequence of the hit cartoon about The Simpsons family and the people of Springfield, makes way for the spoof credits Homerland, in celebration of the third season of the award-winning drama starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis.
The episode features a jumpy blonde FBI agent called Annie, voiced by comedienne Kristen Wiig, very similar to Claire's character Carrie, come to Lisa's aid when she fears dad Homer has been "turned" into a terrorist.
The doughnut-loving TV addict is then submitted to terrorist torture techniques, similar to those experienced by ex-military man Brodie, played by Damian in Homeland.
As always in The Simpsons, baby Maggie is the one to watch out for in the terrorist plot.
Homerland launches the 25th season of The Simpsons in the US this weekend, on the same night the third season of Homeland begins on Fox.
